We recommend allowing all your followers to see and reply to your Stories to increase brand engagement. From your settings, click\u00a0<em>Privacy<\/em>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<em>Story<\/em>\u00a0to access your Story Controls. You now have an Instagram business profile. It\u2019s a good idea to populate your feed with ten to 15 high-quality\u00a0posts\u00a0before you really start engaging people. If users visit your profile and find it empty, they probably won\u2019t follow you.<\/li>\n<li>Then,\u00a0<strong>start following accounts that interest you and relate to your business<\/strong>. Think of Instagram like a community and look for other businesses in your area or influencers who might enjoy your product or service. While you don\u2019t want to spam your followers\u2019 feeds with only product photos, a few images can build excitement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Live launches:<\/strong>\u00a0Consider showcasing a new product or service using Instagram Live. Then, drive users to purchase by including a purchase link in your bio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, don&#8217;t forget to leverage the link in your Instagram bio as well as your\u00a0Instagram Story Highlights\u00a0as these can connect followers to your website, blog, and product pages.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"section-header__header\"><strong>Instagram Hacks and Best Practices<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Let\u2019s explore a few\u00a0little-known Instagram hacks\u00a0to make the most of the platform. We recommend downloading the latest version of the app to follow along.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. Post to Instagram at the best times.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Instagram users are active at all times of the day. However, there are a handful of\u00a0optimal times to post on Instagram. For peak engagement, the best times to post are Mondays and Thursdays at any time\u00a0<em>except<\/em>\u00a0between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. This is for the time zone of\u00a0<em>your<\/em>\u00a0target audience. Many users tend to engage with more content during off-work hours on weekdays.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. Link Instagram to your Facebook page.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One thing that makes Instagram unique is that you can share your content seamlessly across other social networks.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t recommend automatically linking to your other social platforms like Twitter and Facebook; what works on Instagram won\u2019t always yield the same results on other channels, especially as you get up and running. For this reason, tailor your content to each platform.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0linking your Instagram to your other social accounts\u00a0like Facebook does increase the number of eyes on your posts. Remember, your Facebook Page will already be linked to your Instagram if you set up an Instagram business profile.<\/p>\n<p>If you do decide to do this, go to your Instagram settings and click\u00a0<em>Linked Accounts<\/em>\u00a0under\u00a0<em>Privacy and Security<\/em>. Log into Facebook and pick the Facebook Business Page to which you\u2019d like to link. Next, under the\u00a0<em>Share Settings<\/em>\u00a0menu, the Facebook logo should be blue to indicate that sharing is on.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. If this sounds intimidating, don&#8217;t fret; I&#8217;ve found the perfect solution for both \u2014\u00a0user-generated content.<\/p>\n<p>User-generated content (UGC) is content featuring your brand or product that your customers, users, and followers post on their networks. UGC is a fantastic example of word-of-mouth marketing and helps drive brand awareness and conversions. Better yet? You can use that content for your own networks.<\/p>\n<p>There are a few different ways to use UGC. Some brands share a branded hashtag and ask their customers to use it when posting about their products. The company then follows that hashtag to discover new content and asks the person permission to share their image. Other brands run specific\u00a0UGC campaigns\u00a0and contests to gather a lot of UGC at once and &#8220;flood&#8221; follower timelines with brand-specific content.<\/p>\n<p>UGC campaigns don&#8217;t have to happen on social media, either. My favorite example of UGC by the pet product brand, Chewy. We all know how much pets love boxes, and so do the folks at Chewy. They encourage customers to post pictures of their pets in Chewy boxes (seriously \u2014 it says it right there on the box!), and Chewy shares them on its social media.
